Humana approves in-office balloon sinuplasty

In recognition of the safety and efficacy of In-Office Balloon Sinuplasty, Humana has approved the procedure when medically necessary. This is a big win for Humana patients who can benefit from the procedure.

Dr. Madan Kandula was the first physician in our area to offer In-Office Ballon Sinuplasty, a technology previously only used in the OR setting.  This minimally invasive technique allows patients who suffer from chronic sinus symptoms an alternative to surgery under general anesthesia.  During this procedure, Dr. Kandula uses a sinus balloon catheter to enlarge the sinus opening, which allows from drainage and improved air flow.  Patients often feel immediate relief of their symptoms and return to work as early as the same day.
