Medical specialists that care

Kelsey Hopping, PA-C

Alysa Blum, PA-C
Nationally Certified Physician Assistant

Combining compassionate care with patient education, Alysa Blum joined ADVENT in 2013. A graduate of Marquette University, Alysa pursued an accelerated program to receive her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Alysa was drawn to ADVENT’s unique approach, saying “ADVENT creates an environment where the treatment plan is far from one size fits all, and allows individualization for each unique patient’s needs.”

Alysa enjoys creating meaningful relationships with her patients in order to better their care, and much of this stems from patient education.  Alysa believes “when a patient feels heard and has a better understanding of a disease process or procedure, they will be a better advocate for their own health, creating better outcomes all around.”

Alysa works in concert with Dr. Madan Kandula, complementing his ability to deliver a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services. As part of her comprehensive responsibilities, Alysa conducts physical exams, diagnoses and treats illnesses, orders and interprets tests, assists in surgery, and writes prescriptions.  Within the physician-PA relationship, she exercises autonomy in medical decision making and provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.

A native to Wisconsin, Alysa was born and raised in Appleton. Alysa resides in Brookfield, and together with her husband enjoys hiking and exploring the beautiful state parks of Wisconsin. She is active in her church through volunteering and singing at services.
